Our Projects

We have successfully completed projects for Conco at the Nxuba Windfarm and Power Construction on the Oyster Bay windfarm. We have also successfully completed demolition contracts at the Uitenhage Cinema, Walmer Park, Seaview Hotel, Beach Hotel, Molteno and Bedford failed turbine bases, Gubb and Inges (Mohair) but to name a few.

Crossways Farm Village

Project: Crossways Contemporary Rural New Town

Date: Ongoing since 2021

Description: Making way for internal infrastructure for South Africa's first contemporary rural new town, including, roads, plumbing, cable trenching, earthworks, digging dams and bush clearing, consturction of the aeropark inculding a 1 100 metre grass runway and taxiways leading to 19 of the most exclusive aeropark plots.

We have been continuously working on the preliminary phases of the Crossways Farm Vilage Development since 2021.

This job has been divided into 18 presincts. This project has utilized Stu Davidson & Sons entire fleet, throughout the prearatory development. Stu Davidson has made use of the Thornhills local SMME's -by upskilling them through training and contracting on the job.




Oyster Bay Windfarm

Project: Oyster Bay Windfarm

Date: 08 February 2021 – 19 February 2021

Description: Dig 3km’s of trenches for the power cables that run from the wind turbines to the substation.

Two teams were put together to complete this project, with a 30 ton excavator and a 20 ton excavator in each team. The 30 ton excavators were used to break out the large rocks in the path, while the 20 ton excavators were used to dig the actual trenches to the specifications provided. The teams worked from opposite ends inwards.

This project was completed in half the time allocated!

Demolition of Nexus Yachts

Project: Demolition of Nexus Yachts building in St Francis Bay, Eastern Cape. 

Date: July 2021

Description: After a devastating fire caused the collapse of a Nexus Yachts steel building in St Francis Bay, the Stu Davidson team was tasked with the demolition and removal of its remains.

A team consisting of a 20 Ton Crawler Excavator, a 42 Ton Crawler Excavator and a truck was used to complete this project.

We also had one of our special attachments involved in this demo – our hydraulic steel sheer, which proved to be the perfect tool for this job!
